Privacy notice

Version 1.1 · 26 October 2026

This notice says what happens to your details on this site, capability.ai. Most of it is about the form on the home page. It also says what the site’s host receives when it sends you a page, and what your browser keeps on your own device.

Who holds your details

Your details are held by TechShifts Media Limited. It trades as BusinessGPS, publishes this site, and is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 12622485. Registered office: 31 Spencer Close, Alsager, Stoke-On-Trent, England, ST7 2TA. It decides how your details are used. The law calls it the controller.

To ask anything about your details, email help@techshifts.io.

What is stored

Only what you send with the form:

  • your email address
  • the date and time you sent the form
  • the version of the words you saw beside the form

Nothing else is stored. The form does not ask your name, your employer or which side of the table you work on. The form’s record holds no internet address and no details of your browser.

Without an email address the form cannot be sent.

What your details are used for

They are used to send you an email when the week’s piece is out, and for nothing else. The email, which this notice calls the note, holds the title of the piece and a link to it. It never carries a price, an offer or an advertisement. Your address is never used to sell anything, by the custodian or by anyone else, and is never added to any other list, including any list kept for the custodian’s own services.

The ground in law

Consent. You give it by sending the form. You may take it back at any time, and it costs nothing.

How long your details are kept

Your address is kept until you stop the note. The date you sent the form and the version of the words you saw are kept with it, as the record of your consent.

When you stop the note, your address stays on the list marked as stopped, so that no note is sent to it again. The date you sent the form and the version of the words you saw stay with it, as the record of your consent. The custodian has a fair reason to keep that record. The law calls this ground legitimate interests.

The note

The note is sent for the custodian by AWeber, from a list that holds this site’s addresses and no others. After you send the form, one email asks you to confirm your address. No note is sent until you do. If you do not confirm, your address is not used. Every note has a link to stop it. You can also stop it by emailing help@techshifts.io.

Who else handles your details

This site is hosted by Netlify, Inc., a company in the United States. It keeps the store of what the form sends there. United Kingdom law allows this because Netlify, Inc. is certified under the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. It lists the firms that help it run its service on its own site. It keeps that store for the custodian and may use it for nothing else.

Like the host of any website, it receives your internet address and details of your browser when it sends you a page. It keeps a record of those requests to run and protect its service. Its published terms do not say for how long.

Only people who work on this site for the custodian are allowed to read the store, and the AI tools they use for that work.

The note is sent by AWeber Systems, Inc., a company in the United States. It also holds your address, on a list for this site alone. United Kingdom law allows this because AWeber Systems, Inc. is certified under the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

The custodian uses AI tools and assistants to help work with the list, for the purposes in this notice. They are software services run by technology companies, mostly in the United States. United Kingdom law allows this under appropriate safeguards, such as the UK’s international data transfer agreement and addendum. To see a copy, email help@techshifts.io.

Your details go to no one else, apart from the service providers described here, unless the law requires it. They are not sold.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. One thing is stored on your device, and only if you ask for it. If you press the light or dark button, your browser keeps that choice (in local storage, as “cap-theme”) so the page stays as you set it. It holds nothing else and is not sent anywhere.

Your rights

You may ask the custodian:

  • for a copy of your details
  • to correct them
  • to delete them
  • to stop using them, or to use them less
  • for your details in a form you can pass to another service

You may object to any use of your details. You may take back your consent to the note at any time.

To have your details removed at any time, email help@techshifts.io. The same address is for every request above. A request is free, and you get an answer within one month.

If something is wrong

Email help@techshifts.io. The custodian tells you within 30 days that it has your complaint, and answers it without undue delay.

You may also complain at any time to the Information Commission’s Office, known as the ICO, the regulator for personal data in the United Kingdom: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Changes to this notice

Each version has a number and a date at its head. When the notice changes, the new version is dated, and earlier versions are kept and sent on request. The form stores which version of its own words you saw.
